Over the past four decades, I have had the privilege of blending my medical expertise with a passion for healthcare technology, working in both India and South Africa. My journey in healthcare IT has been deeply fulfilling, driven by a commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and efficiency through the innovative application of technology. In my roles within the public and private health sectors, I’ve focused on digital health and telemedicine, aiming to make meaningful differences in patient care and healthcare delivery. This journey has allowed me to explore and contribute to various facets of healthcare, including clinical informatics, data analytics, and eLearning, always with an eye towards practical, patient-centered solutions. My educational journey includes an MBBS degree, MD in Forensic Medicine Osmania University. I also hold a diploma in Human Resource Management and have pursued further learning in medical informatics and telemedicine. These experiences have been invaluable in shaping my understanding and approach to healthcare IT.I served as the Director of eHealth Hospital Services for the Gauteng Department of Health and advised the Evexia group of hospitals on digitizing workflow processes. Additionally, I am honoured to be part of the South African Ministerial Advisory Committee on eHealth. I was part of the team that developed the National Digital Health Strategy for South Africa.Currently, I am the President of South African Health Informatics Association (SAHIA) and Chair of the Pan African Telemedicine Network-Sub-Committee of HELINA and a member of the Intercontinental AI and Program Advisory Council of International Medical Exchange.What drives me is my belief in the power of technology to transform healthcare for the better. My aim is to support initiatives that promote primary preventative healthcare and contribute towards universal healthcare coverage through innovative technology. I am inspired by the potential of digital health to enhance the quality of care and am eager to collaborate with like-minded professionals and organizations on this journey.
